Synopsis
Nagieb Khaja is a Danish journalist of Afghani origin and he believes that the West makes decisions on Afghanistan based on an uninformed view of the country and its people. Nagieb is in short a man with a mission. A few years ago he traveled to Afghanistan to write about the simplistic media image of the country and subsequently ended up as a Taliban prisoner, barely escaping alive. On his next trip to Afghanistan, Nagieb brought 30 mobile cameras and asked local civilians to film their lives. For the first time we are invited into the life in the forbidden zone, with all the joys and sorrows, victories and defeats, associated with living in the shadow of war—whether you are a teenager with dreams for your future, active in the fight against corruption in the local community or a family member responsible for everyone's survival.
