Revaz Chkheidze

Rezo Chkheidze (born. 1926, Kutaisi, Georgia)
In 1943 – 46, Chkheidze studied at Tbilisi Theatre Institute Named after Shota Rustaveli. In 1953, he graduated from  the Directing Department  of All-Union State Institute of Cinematography, Moscow. Since 1953, he was a film director of Georgia Film Studio, and since 1973, already the CEO of the Film Studio and head of the Film Department at Tbilisi Theatre Institute Named after Shota Rustaveli. In 1953, Chkheidze directed Boris Paichadze, a documentary by his script. In 1954, two other documentaries were filmed with Tengiz Abduladze. In 1955, his Magdana’s Donkey was released, which was an award-winner at Cannes IFF in 1956. Chzkheidze  was also a deputy member of Supreme Soviet of USSR.
