Ruben Giney

Born in Yerevan, currently lives in Shanghai. He started making films in when he was 5. First 8 mm film was nominated in Juniors FF (Moscow). Prior to finishing high school he began attending classes at the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography. In 2002, Ruben entered Moscow State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). He worked as junior assistant with Russian directors such as Nikita Mikhalkov and Igor Maslennikov. In 2005, moved to China, where he joined an International Advertising Company Kuiyou Production House as creative director. During this period Ruben directed more than 15 commercials for international corporations such as Panasonic, Asahi, McDonalds, Shiseido, Honda, Toshiba. Since 2010, he has participated in several Chinese TV-series and feature films. Freelance photographer for National Geographic Magazine. Author of several scientific articles.
