Atom Egoyan receives Governor-General's Performing Arts Award

Canadian-Armenian filmmaker Atom Egoyan receives the Canadian Governor-General’s Award. It’s the country's highest honorable prize and is given for lifetime achievement in performing arts. Among the winners are Sarah McLachlan, singer-songwriter and Jean-Marc Vallée, film director.

The prizes will be handed out on May 29 and on May 30 a special event and a tribute to the winners at the National Arts Center will follow.
