Ornella Muti- Honorable Guest of Golden Apricot

Italian film star Ornella Muti will be the honorable guest of GOLDEN APRICOT 12th Yerevan International Film Festival.

The actress made her debut in 1970 film with the film The Most Beautiful Woman. She has appeared mostly in European films. One of her most famous works is Swann in Love by Volker Schlöndorff, one of the fathers of new German cinema. It’s the adaptation of the first volume of Marcel Proust's "In search of lost time”, where Muti co-stars with Jeremy Irons and Alain Delon. The film was nominated for two BAFTA Awards.

Muti has also appeared in films of renowned Italian directors Marco Ferreri and Dino Risi. Though the Armenian audience is more familiar with the comedy Il BisbeticoDomato (The Taming of the Scoundrel) where she plays alongside Adriano Celentano.

Muti made her first Hollywood film in 1980 by playing princess Aura in Flash Gordon. One more well-known American movie with Muti is Oscar by John Landis, a screwball comedy with Sylvester Stallone as the lead. Muti appeared in dozens of  English-language fims, but her career developed mainly in Italian cinema with more than a hundred roles in film and television.

Ornella Muti is a permanent guest of honor at the Cannes Film Festival.

Within the frames of GOLDEN APRICOT the film Swann in Love with Ornella Muti will have its Yerevan primer.
