Armenia-Turkey Cinema Platform 2016 Yerevan workshop – 10 projects selected

Armenia-Turkey Cinema Platform (ATCP) Project Development Workshop will be held in Yerevan on 11-13 July 2016 in the framework of the 13th Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival at ANI Plaza Hotel.
The workshop will consist of presentations, one to one meetings and project pitches. The winners of the workshop will be awarded a prize of 7,500 Euros by European Union and a prize of 5,000 USD established by the Embassy of the United States in Armenia.
The Call for applications was announced on 17thof May 2016 and the deadline for entries was June 18th. During this period the platform has received 22 projects from Armenia, Turkey, and Diaspora.The following 10 projects were carefully chosen by the Selection committee consisting of film/media experts from Armenia and Turkey.
The 10 selected projects are:
1.    Aurora’s Sunrise – director Inna Sahakyan, producer Vardan Hovhannisyan (Armenia - documentary)
2.    Border – director Edgar Baghdasaryan, producer Lilit Martirosyan (Armenia - short tragicomedy)
3.    Border Disorder – director Uğur Becer, producer Asli Akdağ (Turkey - documentary)
4.    Hurting Flesh – director/producer Orhan Murat Bahtiyar (Turkey - short fiction)
5.    The Crypto-Armenians – director Kenan Berzan, producer Verena Schimpf (Turkey/Germany- documentary)
6.    The Other Part – directors Hakob Melkonyan and Aramayis Mkrtchyan, producer Pierre Mattiote(Armenia/France - documentary)
7.    The Tape–director Serkan Fakili, producer Murat Celik(Turkey - short/drama)
8.    Treasure– director/producer Ilham Bakir (Turkey - short fiction)
9.    Welcome to Anatolia– director Arnaud Khayadjanian, producers Samuel Bilboulian and Nefes Polat (Armenia/France/ Turkey- short fiction)
10.    When I Was Four– director/producer Arus Hakobyan (Armenia- documentary)
ATCP began in 2008 as cooperation between the non-profit company Anadolu Kültür (Turkey) and the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival (Armenia). It is a common network for the filmmakers of both countries for cooperation and making films together. ATCP has supported the production of 20 films by filmmakers from Armenia and Turkey since it was established.
The ATCP Project 2016 is financially supported by the Embassy of the U.S in Armenia.
