Golden Apricot IFF Presents Armenian Cinema in Ankara

Distribution and popularization of Armenian cinema is the main objective of Golden Apricot IFF. During 14 years of Golden Apricot IFF’s history number of special programs, workshops and meetings dedicated to Armenian Cinema were organized in more than 20 countries.

April is a symbolic month. In 2015 – centennial of Armenian Genocide,  Golden Apricot organized special screenings  of films and film lectures on the topic of Armenian Genocide  in more than 17 cities of 14 countries  including Istanbul.

In April of 2017 Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival will present a program of Armenian short films and animations in frames of International Film Festival in Ankara. The festival will take place from April 21 to 30. The program consists of 11 films , including “Mark and markos” by Naira Muradyan, “Simon’s Way” by Edgar Baghdasaryan, “Dialogues” by Diana Kardumyan, “The Road” by Gagik Madoyan, “The Piano” by Levon Minassian, “The Road” by Alexander Baghdasaryan, “Loading My Life” by Harutyun Shatyan, “Milky Borther” by Vahram Mkhitaryan, “White Lamb’s Dream” by Hrant Vardanyan, “Resurrection” by Alen Manukyan , “Farewell Volga” by Hamlet Vardanyan. Armenian film program in Ankara will be presented on April 28 and April 29.

Directors Naira Muradyan and Diana Kardumyan together with film critic and programmer of Golden Apricot IFF Raffi Movsisyan will attend the festival as members of film program delegation.

Raffi Movsisyan is also a member of Jury of Ankara International Film Festival.

 Films included in the program are the best samples of contemporary Armenian cinema and have common humanity, freedom and tolerance thematic.
