Synopsis

The film presents a number of Finnish living rooms. It is a story about change, the inevitable passage of time, and the human desire to be needed and visible. The living room is the centre of the home, where one can relax and feel at ease. The film vividly portrays their inhabitants: grandfather’s wall clock and a 1980s-style sofa and armchairs in one room and a shabby rug and a welding machine serving as a TV table in another, set the stage for everyday drama. The film provides the viewer with a panorama of Finnish society. The main characters are ordinary Finnish people in various stages of their life. The particular experiences of various individuals create a collage of humanity and vital spaces.
