Tonia Mishiali (born 1973, Famagusta, Cyprus)

She graduated from a private English-speaking High School in Cyprus and then moved to Oxford, UK, to study Hotel & Catering Management only to find out that her true passion was directing. After her graduation in 1997 she moved to Cyprus to start working as a director and producer, also creating her own production company Zipcode production&design. She loves experimenting with different mediums- in her career she has directed and produced for theatre, film, video and television in Cyprus and abroad. She has exhibited her work in a big number of national and international film and performance festivals. Her second short film, Dead End, was officially selected in more than 25 IFFs all over the world.  She has now just finished her 3rd short film Lullaby of the Butterfly. She also loves photography and has won various awards in national and international competitions. Holds the position of Film Representative in the  Board of Directors of the Directors Guild of Cyprus since January 2014.
