Christopher Mondt, Director of “Film Projection Mondt” company, technical supporter of Berlinale, Rotterdam, Dubai and other International Film Festivals was invited to Yerevan by “Golden Apricot” Yerevan International Film Festival.
“Cinema technology is changing and we are to try to reach it. The technique we have, the projectors and other equipment are not bad, but they need some regulation, renovation. And as we don’t have a large cinema network, we need to invite specialists from abroad to improve it”, - Harutyun Khachatryan said, Director of “Golden Apricot”.
Director of “Film Projection Mondt” company visited “Moscow” and “Nairi” cinemas and did some testings.
“The technique is not bad, the quality is good, but there are things broken and it looks like there was no service for several years, but we will repair it and it will be good again. In “Moscow” cinema we improved the sound already a little bit, but it takes time, so we need to come again”,- Mondt said.
Harutyun Khachatryan mentioned that there is a preliminary agreement already; accordingly Christopher Mondt and two other engineers from his company will come to Armenia again before the festival.
“We’ll try to co-operate with the directorates of the cinemas and will invite specialists again to improve, change equipment before the festival, in June”, - he said.
Christopher Mondt also mentioned that in addition to the planned visit in June he is eager to be present during the festival, too. “I hope I’ll be able to participate in the festival, because it seems to be good”, - said Mondt.
